For the Tribe fans

A pretty nice mix by Toronto's own DJ Mensa...Haven't gotten through the whole thing but ten minutes into it I'm pretty pleased. It's not Tribe only but more like Tribe and Friends.

Wednesday Happenings

This is the second installment of The Glass House and this time I'm embracing sincerity (you gotta come out to see what I mean). I'm siced to be doing this again so come out and have a drink and some wing tings (I'm gonna crush like 3 plates of them).

Bring your man, bring your girl, yourself or your homies. I'm going stag myself so don't trip if you're without a boo this year.

You know they have that shuttle joint that takes you from Gallery Place to the Atlas District for all the people who don't drive or who plan on getting blasted. One of the best ideas that has been implemented in DC in a while IMO.

I need to figure out a way to see this movie

PUSH won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Directed by Lee Daniels and based on the book written by poet-turned-author Sapphire, PUSH features Mo'Nique, Gabourey Sidibe, Mariah Carey, Paula Patton, and Lenny Kravitz in pretty impressive roles. Y'all know I don't even like watching TV or movies but watch the trailer and see why I want to see this joint. Get the full skinny at BupGrade.

Janelle Monae Pre-Grammy Performance

Janelle Monae - "Violet Stars" (live @ The Mondrian/Grammy Week) from tunji balogun on Vimeo.

This should've been the performance that was featured instead of Katy Perry's wack ass performance, however I don't think she's mainstream enough to grace the Grammy stage as a performer yet. I've never seen Janelle Monae in action but this performance is just how I'd picture her on stage - hype but not in an unnecessary "hype factor" kinda way.

Jabari interview with Young Guru and Young Chris & Neef

A cool interview I found on Nah Right I really like what Guru was saying in this interview regarding oldheads hating on the youngins coming into the game right now

HA! Another throwback worthy of posting

Thanks DC Rap for reminding of one of the best songs "The Wickedest Band Alive" has ever performed. "Work the Walls" along with "Buckwild" and "Doing The Butt" I think were the first three Go-Go songs I ever liked. I was like 5 or 6 when all these joints came out. I saw this video on The Box - well it was Jukebox back in the '80s. R.E. still hits this joint to this day and it still goes as hard as it did when they first dropped the joint.
