'Unicorns' / Sneak Chamber mixtape by Milly July

'Unicorns' by Milly July (zshare link)

Don't know the origin of the song she samples (or maybe just jacks) for 'Unicorns,' but it definately works, and I like the rest of the mixtape (to be downloaded below). I mostly just have this to say: as long as she stays consistent, I'm going to push her material. Unicorns.

Will Eastman mixes Art Buzz

If you're unfamiliar with DJ Will Eastman of the famed Bliss Dance Party then now you have no excuse. Click to link below to peep his mix that is a part of the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative event entitled Art Buzz.

And for more info on Art Buzz being held tonight check DCAHEC's website HERE

DJ Jerome Baker III - Bottle Service Please!!!

DJ Jerome Baker III put together a pretty dope mix with Bottle Service Please!!! For some reason I feel there's some sarcastic undertone in this title but either way it doesn't take away from the all-around sound of this joint.

A.I. Love You - Sincerely Yours Mixtape

I posted a few tracks from this mixtape a few weeks ago and now there's finally a mixtape that will fully introduce the rapper/producer duo. These guys are probably the first Emo rap dudes I've heard from the DMV but I still dig their sound nonetheless.

Tomorrow: Ninety Five Live @ Steve's Bar Room

Tonight: Rap Leagues @ Expo & Axum

Funkadelic Freestyles is one of my favorite Hip Hop radio shows next to 92Q's Rap Attack and Clinton Sparks's Smashtime Radio. There were mad DMV folks in the building that evening showing love to one of the few outlets in the city that have been down from the jump. They'll be back in August on Tuesdays from 8PM-10PM on GWradio.com so put that on your BB, iPhone or whatever type calendar you use.

Damu The Fudgemunk - Same Beat Project EP

I have to admit that for all the posts on this joint that mention his name, this is the first time I ever heard any material from the DC born and bred Producer/MC. I guess I gave him credit on the strength of association. Nonetheless, after visiting his Myspace page Damu lived up to my expectations and he also dropped a new EP a couple days ago entitled Same Beat Project. Being a Hip Hop purist of sorts, I can't argue at all with the direction he took with this one.

Remember "Maestro Knows"?

Maestro Knows - Episode 9 (Terry Kennedy) from Maestro Knows on Vimeo.

I posted a Maestro Knows video last month (Episode 3 to be exact) and with life happening I forgot to check for Episodes 4-8 but luckily came across Episode 9 at herfection This one features skateboarder Terry Kennedy doing what he does best and giving us a look at his new Supra sneaks.
